Cute, creative and inexpensive ways to gift wrap!

Sometimes the best gift wrapping is the type that results from not having any wrapping paper around!
Here is a collection of some easy and fun gift wrapping ideas!
Embellish some regular brown paper with anything you find lying around
the house—colored tape, strips of magazines or pages from old books
(if you can bear to destroy them)
Another cute way to embellish brown paper—go to your local craft store and pickup some little fake flowers!
Make a polka dot design with newspaper cutout circles!
This one is especially clever—take your used potato chip bags (yes, you heard me!),
rinse them out and use them inside out for some fancy silver wrapping paper!
Another cute way to use book pages.  A little handmade note card—such as this
white one with a simple heart stamp, adds some serious class.
These hearts are made out of paint sample cards—those free cards
you pick up from your local hardware store!

About Lucy

Hi there, thanks for stopping by!

My name’s Lucy, and I’m the creator behind Fair Ivy surprise packages.

I live in Venice, California—a few blocks from the beach, in an wonderful urban artist area.   My roommates are all artists.  Neighbors are artists.  Any spare piece of neighborhood street walls are covered in art.  Even the beers around here are a work of art!   I’m surrounded!  It may be because of this that I’m really into crafts, handmade, and art in general…and thus how Fair Ivy has been influenced to become what it is today (yay for handmade!).

When I’m not working on Fair Ivy stuff (i.e. finding unique gifts, taking photographs, blogging, facebooking, marketing, responding to customer inquiries, managing the website, and maintaining the books and subscription matrices), I am generally just adventuring, crafting, veggie gardening, repurposing, or coming up with unusual party ideas!

This blog is a way for me to share some of the awesome handmade products I come across in my daily work searching for cute gifts, showcase some of the surprise gift items that go out in Fair Ivy subscriptions each month, discuss cute packaging ideas, and gush about my love for surprise snail mail.  And a few other random things.

I’d love to chat so if you have any ideas for a unique blog post, or want to discuss having your handmade products featured on the blog or on Fair Ivy, please drop me a line:
