We are a fun and fresh business located in Santa Monica, California and created by the surprise-loving, vegetable-gardening, thrift-storing and craft-doing entrepreneur Lucy Fairweather in 2010. When she realized that there was nowhere that you could subscribe to surprise packages, she decided to create them! The original intent was to make packages you could buy for yourself—but the obvious gifting possibilities could not be denied, and now they are purchased for moms, grandmas, sisters, brothers, friends, daughters, girlfriends....and on and on!

Because we are a small company, we are very supportive of other small businesses. The overwhelming majority of our products are created by individual crafters, small businesses, or entrepreneurs in the US, and your love of surprises helps support their wonderful craft and livelihood. Each item you receive will have details of their handmaking process, so you can feel connected to the people who are putting all the care into your surprise items.

We also try to be as eco-friendly as possible. We try to purchase exclusively from the US and Canada to reduce plane emissions, and only use boxes that are made from recycled material. And instead of styrofoam, we protect our products with recycled krinkle paper (it also looks much nicer)! So rest easy that this is an earth-friendly purchase!
